With Man City and Liverpool facing off this week, the door is wide open for a differential FPL Gameweek 32+ captain.
Gameweek 31+ may be in the books but there is no time to rest for FPL managers. A single day break is all we get before the Premier League resumes with Gameweek 32+ on Saturday. The FA Cup quarter finals will also run parallel to the Premier League this weekend, resulting in an unusually long Gameweek. The final matches for the Gameweek will be played next Thursday.
As always, there is no shortage of story lines heading into FPL Gameweek 32+.
With Liverpool securing their first League title in 30 years, questions surround the reliability of their stars. Are Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold still reliable starters?
And in Manchester, Pep Guardiola continues to baffle FPL manages with his starting lineups. Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden were both absent from the starting XI midweek. The former despite an injury to star striker Sergio Aguero, and the latter following an monstrous performance against Burnley.
As the two Premier League giants face off against each other this week, there is no clear cut FPL Gameweek 32+ captain option. The door is wide open for alternative players to battle for your captaincy decision. So who exactly is the best FPL Gameweek 32+ captain option?
As always, be sure to check out our FPL Captaincy Guide for more tips on selecting your FPL captain.
Anthony Martial – BHA (A)
As the undisputed star of Gameweek 31+, Anthony Martial took FPL by storm with his hat trick against Sheffield United. The 21 point haul turned managers’ heads and places the Frenchman back in the spotlight again this week.
However, this is familiar territory for the Manchester United front-man. With 14 goals and 3 assists, Martial has amassed 145 points this season already. A trip to Brighton also raises the appeal for further returns, as the Frenchman also produced two assists in the reverse fixture this year.
With the Manchester United midfield clicking, and the added bonus of Martial playing out of position (OOP) as a striker, the stars are aligned for another big haul. This makes Anthony Martial one of the best FPL Gameweek 32+ captain options.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – NOR (H)
A run of poor starts has put off many managers, but make no mistake, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is legitimate FPL Gameweek 32+ captain candidate.
Despite poor support from his Arsenal teammates, Aubameyang has still managed to produce 17 goals and 3 assists this season. Notably, his 158 FPL points has consistently put him in the top 3 forward scoring.
And while his current form may be poor, FPL managers should be encouraged by the fixture ahead. A game against a woeful Norwich side provides the opportunity for Aubameyang to break his longest drought of the season. The striker scored twice in the Gameweek 14 reverse fixture against Norwich.
The classic form versus fixture debate is fully embodied by Aubameyang this week. Depending on your position, he may be an excellent FPL Gameweek 32+ captain option.
Raul Jimenez – AVL (A)
In a week where the captaincy selection is wide open, it is nice having an option like Raul Jimenez to provide some security.
Just like last week, Jimenez caps off our list not because of his explosiveness, but because of his reliability. The Mexican international has been by far the most consistent forward this season. With 15 goals and 6 assists to his name already, Jimenez just keeps on producing. The Wolves forward sits comfortably near the top of FPL standings thanks to his 164 points.
And unlike other captaincy options, Jimenez has both form and fixture in his favor. The forward has scored in both of his fixtures after the break, collecting 5 bonus points in the process. Meanwhile, a match up against a fragmented Aston Villa side should provide plenty of opportunities to extend that streak. Jimenez will surely look to replicate the success of the reverse fixture in GW12 where the Wolves star scored a goal.
Always a threat, Raul Jimenez is a reliable FPL Gameweek 32+ captain option.
Our Pick: Raul Jimenez
With the rare combination of form and fixture, Raul Jimenez secures our vote as your go-to FPL Gameweek 32+ captain. A striker in form, facing an unconvincing defense is an opportunity that FPL managers should be jumping on. However, if you are looking for a high-risk, high-return pick then both Martial and Aubameyang provide explosive captaincy options.
