FPL Gameweek 27 Captain Options

With the inaugural Premier League Winter Break wrapped up, FPL managers are excited to come back to a more regular, FPL-packed weekend. However, with looming fixture uncertainty, FPL teams remain in a state of flux as managers prepare to navigate the upcoming BGWs and DGWs. Fortunately, the captaincy decision will likely be the easiest decision managers have to make this week, as the fixtures present only a few viable options. Below are the only real FPL Gameweek 27 captain options that you should consider.

Be sure to check out our FPL Captaincy Guide for more tips on selecting your FPL captain.

Mohamed Salah – WHU (H)

No available player has been on better form than Mohamed Salah. With 35 points over the last four Gameweeks, Salah has tallied three goals and an assist, to go along with three clean sheets and six BPS.

The Egyptian’s record against a shaky West Ham team suggests he could be in for a big haul again this week. In the five games he has faced the Hammers, Mo has collected five goals and two assists. More encouragingly, the Egyptian bagged a goal and added an assist in the reverse fixture earlier in Gameweek 24.

Combined with an excellent home record at Anfield, Mohamed Salah is the standout choice for your FPL Gameweek 27 captain.

Sadio Mane – WHU (H)

Big week coming up!#NBFootball #Furon”

Posted by Sadio Mané on Tuesday, November 26, 2019

It has been a few weeks since we’ve seen Sadio Mane come in as a top FPL captaincy option. Following a horrendous DGW 24 in which the Senegalese picked up an injury, his ownership has been on a steady decline. However, a fixture against a dreadful Hammers defense could be the kind of game that gets Mane back into the Golden Boot conversation.

With all the focus on Salah recently, it is easy to forget that Mane has scored an incredible 152 points so far this year, including 12 goals – just two behind the Egyptian.

Additionally, Mane’s record against West Ham also points to potentially big returns on Monday. In his eight appearances against the Hammers, Mane has bagged four goals and three assists.

With a lower ownership that his Liverpool counterpart, Mane can be an excellent FPL Gameweek 27 captain option.

Raul Jimenez – NOR (H)

If you want to be a little bit more maverick with your captaincy this week then look no further than Raul Jimenez.

Facing a Norwich City team that has the second most goals against this season, the Mexican striker will look to add to his already impressive tally of 11 goals and 6 assists on the season. And while he was unlucky to not score in his last two games against Leicester and United, he is still on good form with 3 goals in his last 4 games.

With the majority of FPL managers looking to Liverpool this week, Raul Jimenez looks set to reward the brave managers who put their faith in him. As such, he is our standout differential FPL Gameweek 27 captain option.

Our Pick: Mohamed Salah

Although he let down over 2 million managers last week, Mohamed Salah remains our go-to FPL captain for Gameweek 27. With other premium options heading into challenging fixtures, it is difficult to look past a red-hot Liverpool team facing a struggling West Ham defense. As the main man currently in form at Liverpool, it is an easy decision this week.
